Mid-20th-century polychrome glazed ceramic pheasant figurine attributed to Cluj-Napoca

Attributed to the Cluj-Napoca potteries of Romania, this mid-20th-century ceramic figurine depicts a Golden Pheasant in a horizontal perching pose. The piece is constructed from glazed ceramic and features polychrome hand-painted decoration. The plumage is rendered in multiple colours including a yellow crest, a red breast and throat, a green saddle, and brown wings with feathered detailing. The characteristic long, tapered tail is decorated with dark brown transverse bars over an orange-yellow ground. The bird is set upon an integral white base modelled with upright green grass motifs, all finished with a high-gloss glaze. No manufacturer marks are visible on the body or the exterior of the base.
