Description

A philatelic numismatic cover (PNC) issued by the Royal Mail and Royal Mint in 2003 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The cover contains a bimetallic five pound (£5) commemorative crown, struck with a nickel-brass outer ring and a cupro-nickel centre. The coin reverse features a central crowned monogram surrounded by the inscription GOD SAVE THE QUEEN and the date 2003. The obverse features the fourth portrait of the Queen by Ian Rank-Broadley. The cover is adorned with ten 1st class stamps depicting various coronation scenes, cancelled with a special postmark dated 2 June 2003. It is uniquely numbered 04844 on the lower right and includes a monochrome portrait of the Queen in coronation regalia.
