A Pair of Vintage Shell Petrol Can Caps

A pair of vintage Shell petrol can caps, of the type used on two-gallon motor spirit cans in the mid-20th century. These circular caps are of heavy cast brass construction. Each cap features the brand name SHELL embossed in bold, sans-serif lettering across the top surface. The design includes two raised lugs on the outer rim to facilitate tightening and loosening, with small holes drilled through each lug to accommodate a lead security seal or to provide leverage.
