A Pair of Wedgwood Blue Jasperware Christmas Plates, 1988 and 1990

A pair of Wedgwood pale blue Jasperware collector plates from the annual Christmas series, dating to 1988 and 1990. Each plate is constructed from unglazed stoneware with applied white bas-relief decoration. The 1988 plate features a central depiction of Salisbury Cathedral, inscribed with the words CHRISTMAS to the left and 1988 to the right. The 1990 plate features a central depiction of a classical triumphal arch, inscribed with CHRISTMAS to the left and 1990 to the right. Both plates are finished with a continuous border of holly leaves and berries around the rim. The items are presented in their original expanded polystyrene protective inserts and original cardboard outer boxes featuring the Wedgwood brand name and Christmas Plate in decorative script. The lot includes an accompanying Wedgwood 1990-1991 Annual Editions brochure.
