A Set of Chinese Jingdezhen Blue and White Rice Grain Porcelain Tableware

The auction will start in __ days and __ hours __ minutes

Description

This comprehensive collection of Chinese export porcelain is decorated in the traditional Linglong or rice grain style. This technique involves pierced cutouts in the ceramic body that are filled with translucent glaze before firing, creating a characteristic window effect. The underglaze blue decoration features a central chrysanthemum flower motif, bordered by geometric patterns and bat symbols, which are traditional Chinese emblems for longevity and good fortune.

The pieces bear several marks on the underside, including the five-character mark for Zhongguo Jingdezhen (China, Jingdezhen) and the two-character Wan Yu mark, a commendation mark translated as Antique Jade. These markings indicate production in the historic porcelain centre of Jingdezhen during the latter half of the 20th century.

According to provided records, the set comprises 6 big flower plates, 4 small flower plates, 4 flower saucers, 8 flower bowls, 4 flower cups, 1 tea pot with lid, 1 sugar pot with lid, 1 jug, 1 gravy jug, 3 sauce dipping dishes, 2 square small divided dishes, and 4 spoons and rests.
