W. Goebel Porcelain Great Spotted Woodpecker Figurine

A W. Goebel glazed porcelain figurine of a Great Spotted Woodpecker, naturalistically modelled in a downward-facing position on a textured, pale brown tree stump. The bird is hand-painted with a black crown and back, white cheeks and breast, black and white barred wings, and a bright red vent. The underside of the base is marked with a blue underglaze factory stamp consisting of a stylized V containing a small crown symbol, alongside the text (C) by W. Goebel and W. Germany.
