A trio of graduated pottery jugs, likely manufactured in Staffordshire during the late 19th century. The jugs are finished in a characteristic glossy black glaze often referred to as Jackfield-type ware. Each piece features a lobed, scalloped body and is fitted with an ornate scrolled handle. The decoration is hand-painted, featuring gilded fern sprays accented with raised light blue enamel dots, creating a jewelled effect. Further gilded highlights are present on the rims and handles. The bases of all three jugs are finished in the same black glaze and bear hand-painted pattern numbers in gold. These are transcribed as 149 over 0, followed by one or two small dots. There are no manufacturer names or factory marks present on the items.
