A collection of seven vintage wooden jigsaw puzzles, predominantly manufactured by the British firm G. J. Hayter and Co. Ltd. of Bournemouth under the Victory brand. The lot includes a Victory Plywood Jig-Saw Puzzle titled Swiss Electric Train, featuring a hand-cut scene of a blue and white locomotive with the manufacturer’s red rectangular logo. Also present is a co-branded Whitman and Victory puzzle titled Percy the Small Engine from The Railway Series by the Rev. W. Awdry, containing 30 large wooden pieces. A larger rectangular Victory Plywood Jig-Saw Puzzle depicts a green steam engine scene and bears a circular red manufacturer’s mark. The group further contains The Blue-Bird Jig-Saw Puzzle, illustrating a blue land speed record car, and a Victory Traditional Nursery Jigsaw. A white cardboard box houses a hand-cut puzzle titled In A Persian Garden, with a typed label noting 86 pieces cut by L. Scott of Bidborough. One puzzle is contained within a plain brown cardboard box. All puzzles are constructed from hand-cut plywood or solid wood.
