A pair of UK decimal coin sets, issued by the Royal Mint to facilitate the transition to decimalisation. Each set is contained within a blue plastic folding wallet and includes five uncirculated coins: bronze 1/2p, 1p, and 2p denominations, and cupro-nickel 5p and 10p denominations. The obverse of each coin features the second portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Arnold Machin, while the reverses were designed by Christopher Ironside. The interior cards are printed with a gold-coloured Royal Mint crest and the text ROYAL MINT. A central header reads BRITAIN’S FIRST DECIMAL COINS. The descriptive text on the cards identifies the reverse designs as the Royal Crown (1/2p), a crowned portcullis (1p), the badge of the Prince of Wales (2p), the badge of Scotland (5p), and part of the crest of England (10p).
