An English bone china figurine of Little Bo-Peep produced by Royal Doulton for the Nursery Rhymes collection. The character is depicted standing on an integral circular base, wearing a flowing white gown decorated with blue floral-patterned borders at the hem and bodice. She wears a matching blue bonnet and is posed with one hand shielding her eyes as she searches for her sheep, while the other hand holds a brown shepherd’s crook. The piece is finished in a high-gloss glaze. The underside of the base features a printed black factory mark consisting of a lion above a crown within a circular Royal Doulton England device. The surrounding text, also printed in black, reads: hand made and hand decorated, MADE IN ENGLAND, BONE CHINA, THE Nursery Rhymes COLLECTION, HN 3030, LITTLE BO-PEEP, Modelled by Adrian Hughes, and © ROYAL DOULTON TABLEWARE LIMITED 1983. There are three hand-applied black decorator dots located near the outer rim of the base.
