A miniature novelty pendant or watch fob modelled as a 19th-century percussion pocket pistol. The piece is constructed from silver-toned metal with a functional mechanical action. The hammer is movable and can be set in a cocked position, released by a curved trigger. The octagonal barrel is fixed to a central frame featuring exposed pivot screws. The grip is decorated on both sides with cast or chased foliate scrollwork in a floral motif. A circular suspension ring is fitted to the base of the grip for attachment to a chain or fob.
