A mid-to-late 20th-century balanced-arm desk lamp. The piece features a multi-jointed, spring-tensioned arm constructed from black-painted metal, mounted upon a heavy rectangular black-painted metal base. It is fitted with a matching conical black metal shade and a white plastic bulb holder. A white rectangular adhesive sticker is applied to the top of the base, which reads PASS SAFETY TEST in printed black capitals. A green and white adhesive PAT test label is affixed to the exterior of the shade with printed fields including TEST DATE and NEXT TEST. No manufacturer marks, stamps, or embossed names are visible on any component of the lamp. The lamp is wired with a white PVC-sheathed electrical cable and a standard UK three-pin plug. All electrical items are sold as decorative objects only and must be tested by a qualified electrician before use.
