A Royal Doulton glazed earthenware character jug titled Annie Oakley, from The Wild West Collection. The jug depicts the American sharpshooter with blonde hair, wearing a white wide-brimmed Stetson-style hat and a brown Western-style shirt featuring a red star pendant at the collar. The handle is intricately modelled in the form of a rifle with a blue, white, and red bullseye target positioned on the shoulder. The base features a printed Royal Doulton backstamp with a circular crest containing a lion and crown, marked hand made and hand decorated, Made in England, Royal Doulton, England. Further inscriptions include THE WILD WEST Collection, ANNIE OAKLEY, model number D6732, a facsimile signature for the modeller Stanley James Taylor, and a copyright mark for Royal Doulton Tableware Limited 1984. A small hand-painted number 19 is also present on the base.
