Description

A collection of British postage stamps from the reigns of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II. The assembly includes a group of four high-value definitive stamps from the Queen Elizabeth II ‘Castles’ series, featuring the 2/6 Carrickfergus Castle in grey-blue, the 5/- Caernarvon Castle in red-brown, the 10/- Edinburgh Castle in dark blue, and the £1 Windsor Castle in grey-black. Also present is a single high-value £1 King George VI definitive stamp printed in brown.

The collection further contains multiple Queen Elizabeth II ‘Wilding’ definitive stamps in various denominations and colours, including green, orange-red, and blue. A partial booklet pane of three Wilding stamps (one green 1 1/2d and two orange-red 2d) is mounted on a paper fragment. The stamps are primarily perforated and mounted on a stock page behind clear protective strips. A handwritten note on a white slip of paper accompanying the stamps reads ‘DO NOT TOUCH MINT !’.
