A fire fender of three-sided construction, featuring a hand-beaten or planished texture throughout the exterior surface. The main front rail has a convex profile and is punctuated by three decorative repoussé bands: one positioned centrally and one at each corner. These bands are embellished with a symmetrical, stylized foliate motif within a rectangular border. The fender is constructed from steel or iron with a darkened, aged finish intended to resemble pewter or lead. The return ends are of rectangular section, mitered and joined to the main rail. The interior reveals the raw construction of the metal frame with an oxidized surface.
