A pair of English bone porcelain figurines depicting two young women in formal attire, presented on a burgundy velvet-textured surface. The figures are constructed from glazed bone china with a high-gloss white finish to the dresses, which feature molded details representing fabric folds, ruffles, and voluminous skirts. The skin tones, hair, and facial features are hand-painted with a matte or satin polychrome finish. One figure is standing in a dynamic, forward-leaning pose, holding the folds of her skirt; she has dark hair styled in an updo with a decorative band. The second figure is depicted in a seated position with her hands clasped in her lap and feet visible beneath the hem; she has reddish-blonde hair styled in a bun. The underside of the bases is not visible in the provided images, so no factory marks, model numbers, or decorator marks can be transcribed.
