A Twelve Days of Christmas Commemorative Medallion Pendant Necklace

A commemorative jewellery item featuring a circular, double-sided medallion pendant suspended from a fine curb link chain. The medallion is decorated in relief with scenes illustrating the traditional carol, The Twelve Days of Christmas. The obverse depicts the first six verses, with a central partridge in a pear tree surrounded by images of turtle doves, French hens, calling birds, five gold rings, and geese a-laying. The reverse illustrates the remaining verses, featuring a central figure of a lord a-leaping, surrounded by seven swans a-swimming, eight maids a-milking, nine ladies dancing, ten pipers piping, and eleven drummers drumming. The chain is secured with a simple spring ring clasp. The metal is unmarked and appears to be silver-toned plating over a base metal.
