A Wade Ceramic Wedding Commemorative Mug

A Wade earthenware mug of cylindrical form featuring a flared foot and a loop handle. The body is decorated with a raised hexagonal cartouche on the front, containing a transfer-printed vignette of a bride and groom standing beneath a floral arch, with the script Wedding below. This central image is framed by a wreath of pink roses and green leaves. A corresponding, smaller version of the bride and groom vignette is printed on the interior rim. The mug is finished with gilt-line banding to the rim and the base. The base bears a red transfer mark for Wade, England, featuring the name in a stylised font with a chevron above the letter A, set between two horizontal bars.
