A Collection of UK Transport and Co-operative Society Tokens

A collection of British commercial and transport tokens struck in various metals. A primary group comprises aluminium National Transport Tokens in denominations of 5 and 10, many of which feature a central circular piercing. A second significant group includes tokens issued by the Tiverton Co-operative and Industrial Society Limited, struck in white metal and copper-coloured bronze alloy. Visible denominations for these society tokens include 1D, 1 1/2D, 1s/-, and ONE POUND. Included is a circular brass deposit tag with a wire loop, bearing the stamped inscription THIS JAR CHARGED 5/-. The designs feature bold alphanumeric denominations centred within circular legends.
