The auction will start in __ days and __ hours __ minutes

Description

A collection of two silver-toned metalware items. The lot comprises a three-light candelabrum and a decorative swing-handle basket.

The candelabrum is of classical form, featuring a baluster-shaped central column supported by a weighted circular base. The base is decorated with an embossed foliate scrolling band. Two scrolling arms extend from the central pillar to support outer candle nozzles, with a third central nozzle. Each nozzle is fitted with a drip pan featuring a matching embossed decorative border. The construction shows signs of being silver-plated copper, with a yellowish base metal visible where the plating has thinned. No hallmarks or maker’s marks are visible on the exterior surfaces.

The decorative basket or bonbon dish is of shell-like form with a deeply fluted and scalloped rim. It features a textured radiating pattern from the centre and is fitted with a simple curved swing handle attached to the sides by pivot joints. The metal is heavily tarnished and oxidised, consistent with silver plate. No maker’s marks or assay marks are observable in the provided view.
