A Collection of Miscellaneous Ceramics including Stoneware Tankards and Character Jugs
Description
An assortment of ceramic vessels and novelty pieces of varied origins. The collection features two large stoneware tankards with blue-banded decoration and relief-moulded sprigged motifs, one depicting a tree and the other a building. A group of items displays a uniform coral-coloured glaze, including a large pitcher, several mugs of various sizes, a small square vessel, and a cylindrical jug fitted with a hinged grey metal lid. Character pieces include a hand-painted Toby jug showing a seated man in a tricorn hat and red coat, a smaller character jug of a man in a green hat, and a group of miniature face-moulded cups. The lot also includes a small brown-glazed earthenware jug with a face moulded into the body in a folk-art style. No visible maker’s marks or backstamps are present on the items.
