Description

A two-piece Dutch-style corner display cabinet constructed from walnut with extensive floral marquetry inlays. The upper section features a high, arched pediment surmounted by a centrally carved foliate scroll cartouche. Below the pediment is a single glazed door with a shaped glass pane, bordered by trailing floral and foliate marquetry. The interior is fitted with two fixed shelves. The upper section is set upon a larger bow-fronted lower cupboard featuring a single door. This door is decorated with a central marquetry panel depicting a basket of flowers, surrounded by further floral motifs. The side stiles of both sections continue the marquetry theme with vertical trailing vines. The cabinet is supported by short, shaped bracket feet. No maker’s marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the exterior.
