Antique English Oak and Patinated Metal Barley Twist Fireplace Fender

An antique fireplace fender of U-shaped construction, featuring an oak base rail with a central raised decorative block on the front section. The fender is fitted with four turned oak posts, each incorporating a square-section block through which decorative barley twist metal rails are mounted. These rails feature a patinated bronze-coloured finish. The interior sides of the wooden base rails are finished with a black protective lining. The piece is designed in the Jacobean Revival style, characteristic of British domestic metalwork and furniture from the late 19th to early 20th century. No maker marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the object.
