The auction will start in __ days and __ hours __ minutes

Description

A standing male figure representing a soldier, modelled as a replica of the Terracotta Army discovered in the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang in Xi’an, China. The figure is crafted from fired terracotta clay with a dark grey and black matte finish. The surface has been treated with light-coloured pigment and residue in the recessed areas of the moulding to simulate an excavated appearance. The warrior is depicted in a standing pose, dressed in traditional Qin Dynasty military attire comprising a lamellar-style plate armour vest over a knee-length tunic and a distinctive knotted neckcloth. The hair is styled into a topknot under a flat cap. The hands are positioned in a gripped fashion, intended to hold a separate miniature weapon which is no longer present. The figure stands on an integrated rectangular plinth which features impressed Chinese characters along one side. This is a modern decorative piece produced in the late 20th or early 21st century.

Height: approx. 30 cm.
