A Collection of Vintage Wade Commemorative and Transport Themed Ceramics

A collection of vintage Wade ceramics comprising a commemorative tankard and several transfer-decorated pin dishes or ashtrays. The earthenware tankard is finished in a pale blue glaze and features the coat of arms for the British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) alongside white block lettering. The base is marked with a red backstamp for Wade Regency, London. The collection includes square dishes from the Famous Aircraft series with lobed, scalloped edges, depicting the Bleriot Monoplane 1909 and the Wright Biplane 1903. These are marked as A Moko Line by Wade and were authenticated by the publishers of Janes All the Worlds Aircraft. Also included are circular dishes from the Veteran and Vintage Cars series, depicting subjects such as the 1914 T.T. Sunbeam, 1913 Bugatti, and 1927 Bugatti Type 35B. These bear the mark An RK Product by Wade and were authenticated by the Veteran Car Club or Vintage Sports Car Club of Great Britain. One further circular dish depicts the Prince Festiniog Railway locomotive and is marked Wade England.
