A Trio of Vintage Taunton Vale Earthenware Kitchen Storage Canisters

A trio of vintage glazed earthenware kitchen storage canisters manufactured by Taunton Vale, England. Each canister is of square-section form featuring a rounded shoulder and a matching mushroom-shaped domed lid. The exterior is decorated with a stylised 1970s floral pattern consisting of mustard yellow flowers set against dark brown rectangular panels with zig-zag borders. A complementary green foliate band encircles the neck of each jar, and a single floral motif is centred on the top of each lid. The decoration is applied via transfer print. The base of each canister bears a black transfer-printed maker’s mark within an oval containing the text TAUNTON VALE above a central graphic of a kitchen range and the words Made in England below.
