Description

This lot comprises three pieces of Art Deco period pressed glass and two British First World War service medals. The glassware consists of translucent light blue items in the style of manufacturers such as Jobling or Bagley, likely dating to the 1930s. The collection includes a small dish with an undulating, organic-form rim and textured surface; an oval bowl featuring concentric horizontal ridges and raised circular bubble motifs, supported by three block feet; and a flared footed bowl decorated with a stylized relief-moulded fan pattern. The militaria component includes a 1914-15 Star and a British War Medal 1914-1918. The bronze 1914-15 Star is inscribed on the reverse to Pioneer W. J. Whitney, Royal Engineers, service number 110628. The silver British War Medal features the profile of King George V on the obverse and depicts St George on horseback on the reverse.
