A Pair of 9ct Yellow Gold and Graduated Triple-Drop Opal Earrings

A matched pair of articulated triple-drop earrings for pierced ears, constructed from 9ct yellow gold. Each earring is set with three graduated cabochon-cut white opals showing green and blue play-of-colour. The stones are held in rub-over settings, arranged with a pear-shaped opal at the top, a small circular opal in the centre, and a larger circular opal at the base. The earrings are designed with post and butterfly scroll backs. The reverse of the top settings and both butterfly backs are stamped with the decimal fineness mark 375, indicating 9ct gold.
