Lot 250:
A Set of Six Vintage Monopoly Board Game Tokens
Description
This group consists of six vintage die-cast metal game tokens, attributed to mid-20th century editions of the board game Monopoly, produced by Waddingtons or Parker Brothers. The set includes five silver-tone tokens in the forms of a Scottie dog, a battleship, a racing car with a driver, a boot, and a flat iron. Included with these is one red-painted token depicting a four-door sedan. These tokens are manufactured from die-cast zinc alloy. The silver-tone pieces feature various cast details, such as the textured coat of the dog and the stacks of the ship. The flat iron has impressed characters on the upper handle surface, though these are not clearly legible. The red car is a different style of casting with a flatter profile compared to the standard silver-tone tokens.
