A Cased Edwardian The Georgian Sealing Set

An Edwardian wax sealing set titled The Georgian Sealing Set, contained within its original fitted case. The collection comprises a hand seal, a wax melting spoon, a spirit lamp, and a match case. The hand seal features an octagonal-section handle of multi-coloured banded agate, displaying cream and dark brown horizontal striations. The seal is fitted with a rectangular dark brown stone matrix, which is unengraved. The metal wax melting spoon has a deep circular bowl and is fitted with a turned and polished wooden handle. Traces of green sealing wax are present within the bowl. The spirit lamp is a circular metal reservoir with a central wick aperture. The black leather or leatherette match case is embossed with the word MATCHES in gold lettering. The set is housed in a dark green textured case with a brass catch. The interior lid is lined with padded teal-coloured silk and bears the gold-printed inscription THE GEORGIAN SEALING SET and PATENT No30394/10 ETC.
