Description

This collection consists of three pieces of British art pottery from the Flaxman range produced by Wade Heath in Burslem, England, dating from the mid-20th century. The group includes two handled condiment baskets or dishes and one small open bowl. Each piece is constructed from earthenware and finished with a characteristic mottled or sponged glaze technique. The colour palette is composed of blended tones of pale green, ochre, and cream. The two baskets feature an oval form with scalloped or ruffled rims and integrated loop handles, set upon flared circular pedestal feet. The small bowl has a simple rounded body with a slightly flared rim. The interiors of the pieces show variations in the glaze application, with one basket displaying a more pronounced mint green tone. All three items bear a printed grey backstamp on the underside which reads FLAXMAN WADE HEATH ENGLAND. Additionally, both handled vessels feature the incised model number 248.
