Description
A trio of mid-20th-century British earthenware items from the Flaxman range by Wade Heath, produced in Burslem, England. This collection consists of a circular basket, a rectangular basket, and a small jug, all featuring relief-molded decoration and finished in a distinctive variegated mottled cloud glaze of turquoise, light blue, and ochre yellow tones.
The circular basket features a basketweave texture to the exterior and a single overhead handle. The underside of the base is marked with the blue printed factory mark WADE ENGLAND FLAXMAN and includes the number 246.
The rectangular basket has a flared body with a matching basketweave relief pattern and a single overhead handle. The base bears the blue printed mark WADE ENGLAND FLAXMAN along with the number 247.
The small jug is designed with a flared spout and a single handle featuring a decorative spur at the base. The lower section of the body is decorated with relief-molded stylized wave or scroll motifs. The base is marked with the blue printed stamp FLAXMAN WADE HEATH ENGLAND.
