S. M. Lee, A Pair of Miniature views of Berwick-upon-Tweed

A pair of miniature paintings, each depicting architectural scenes of Berwick-upon-Tweed. One work illustrates a street view with white-walled buildings and small figures, while the other features a townscape with red-tiled roofs and a prominent church spire. Both pieces are signed in pencil to the lower right of the mount, with the signature appearing to read S. M. Lee. The works are housed in dark wood frames with a narrow gilded inner bead and are set within cream-coloured mounts featuring a terracotta inner border. The verso of one frame is inscribed in ink with the location Berwick on Tweed and retains a partial label for a gallery or framer based on Kingsley Road, Brighton (Tel: 01273).
