A Trio of Vintage British Pressed Glass Flower and Serving Bowls

The auction will start in __ days and __ hours __ minutes

Description

This lot comprises three pieces of mid-20th-century British pressed glass in various colours and styles. The first item is a shallow amber glass bowl featuring a ruffled, scalloped rim. The exterior body is decorated with a molded fish scale or imbricated pattern, with a radial sunburst motif to the centre of the well. The design is in the style of British manufacturers such as Sowerby or Davidson. The second item is a large posy bowl in a dark amber or topaz hue, characterised by a wide, rolled-over rim and a broad-ribbed optic design to the body. It includes a matching, removable glass flower frog with multiple apertures. The third piece is a smaller flower frog bowl crafted from pale green frosted or satin glass. The rim surrounding the integral frog is decorated with a molded geometric frieze of triangles, reflecting Art Deco design influences. This particular shade of green was frequently achieved using uranium as a colourant, though UV reactivity has not been tested for this catalogue. All items are constructed from pressed glass. No maker marks are visible on any of the pieces.
