A collection of field equipment issued to the Nationale Volksarmee (NVA) of the German Democratic Republic. The group comprises a three-piece aluminium mess kit, a field canteen, a utility pouch, and a belt buckle. The mess kit is constructed with a kidney-shaped main pot featuring a wire bale handle, an internal insert tray, and a lid with a folding metal closure handle that doubles as a bowl. The canteen is housed in a fabric cover featuring the Strichtarn raindrop camouflage pattern and includes a grey plastic drinking cup and a grey woven webbing shoulder strap. A rectangular utility pouch is also finished in Strichtarn camouflage, secured by two grey webbing straps with metal buckles. The enlisted man’s field belt buckle is made of stamped metal with a pebbled surface finish, painted in a field-grey colour. A stamped circular emblem is visible on the face of the buckle, featuring a hammer and compasses within a wreath of grain.
