This lot comprises a collection of sewing accessories and small containers featuring ornate white metal repoussé and chased decoration. The group includes a pair of scissors with a highly decorated sheath, a two-part egg-shaped needle case, a thimble with a floral band, a pedestal-base pin cushion with a blue velvet insert, a rectangular hinged trinket box with a gilded interior, a small cylindrical box with a hinged floral lid, and a stiletto. The metalwork is embellished with floral scrolls, foliage, and a central winged figure on the scissor sheath. The stiletto is constructed with a tapered steel point and a smooth, cream-coloured handle of bone or ivory. The shank of one scissor blade is stamped with the word GERMANY in block capitals; there is a further stamped mark above this word which is not legible as a name. No other hallmarks or maker’s marks are visible on the white metal pieces, which are consistent with silver plate.
