A Edwardian style mahogany sewing or work table featuring an octagonal form. The hinged lid opens to reveal an interior divided into three compartments, currently lined with a non-original yellow paper or synthetic material. Below the main body is a secondary sliding section housing a pleated fabric-covered work basket for storing needlework. The exterior is constructed from mahogany with boxwood or satinwood stringing and inlay to the edges and lid. The front features a single brass keyhole escutcheon. The table is supported by four square-tapered legs joined by a slender X-stretcher.
