Weathermaster Aneroid Banjo Barometer with Thermometer

A mid-20th-century wall-mounted aneroid banjo barometer by Weathermaster. The piece is constructed with a dark-stained wooden case featuring carved rococo-style ornamentation, including acanthus leaves and floral scrolls. The circular silvered metal dial is set behind glass with a brass-coloured bezel. It displays barometric readings in both inches of mercury, ranging from 28 to 31, and millibars, from 970 to 1060. The dial includes traditional weather indicators such as Stormy, Rain, Change, Fair, and Very Dry, alongside directional instructions for the needle. The maker’s name Weathermaster is printed vertically on the right side of the dial. A vertical liquid-in-glass thermometer is mounted on a brass plate on the neck of the barometer, featuring dual scales for Celsius and Fahrenheit.
